Towering Castle Walls, AKASHI Castle/For Englishi speaking people
【INTRODUCTION】
We visited Hyogo Prefecture from June 15th to 16th for one night and visited Ako Castle, Akashi Castle, and Arima Onsen.
Of course, it was a road trip.
This article describes Akashi Castle.
Four years ago, my wife and I used the Seisyun 18 ticket to visit Himeji, Soon as the train passed by Himeji, we caught sight of a grand castle with two triple-tiered turrets at each end and impressive towering castle walls. At first, we didn’t know the name of the castle, but at first glance, it was evident that it held a significant legacy.
And that castle turned out to be Akashi Castle. We were primarily focused on Himeji Castle that day, so unfortunately, we didn’t have time to stop by Akashi Castle. However, we had made up our minds to visit it someday.
【CONCLUSION】
I have never regretted visiting any of the castles I have been to so far, and this castle was no exception. From the first view of the castle walls to exploring each tower, We couldn’t contain our excitement. Japan has a plethora of captivating structures, beautiful places, and must-see locations that continue to stir our emotions. This castle marks the 35th out of the 100 great castles in Japan, so there is still plenty more to look forward to. The excitement only grows from here.
